Craig's Doctor Watson Scarf

I've been naughty on the whose '30 Days of craft photos' plan, haven't I? I shall make up for it in the next couple of weeks!

So, here is the Doctor Watson scarf you have read about, and heard about if you listen to Knitzors. If you haven't then I shall explain.
Whilst watching Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows at the cinema, Craig mentioned how much he liked Watson's scarf, the next day we popped into our local yarn shop and bought the yarn, he chose the colours he wanted, being green and brown.

(Doesn't Craig look adorable?)

The original pattern can be found here, and is a great base pattern, which didn't work out for me so I made a few alterations.

You can read my pattern below:

Day 8: Challenging

I found creating this scarf slightly challenging.
This is Rikku from FF elebenty-million.....-2 (aka I'm not sure, but it's not very final).

Day 7: Materials

Here are some of my newest yarn stash, as you can see I have a love of slightly novelty yarns.
The Safari I bought myself,  though the other 3 on show were bought me, along with several other different balls of yarn.

Day 6: Colour

Late I know, mostly because I wanted to take the Day 7 photo of my big pile of yarn I'll be receiving tomorrow!

Ok, colour... what better view of colour than a rainbow! I love the light in this photo, I think I took this photo before Christmas, but I kept it in my inspiration bank, there isn't a lot of colour around at the moment, just shades of grey,

Day 5: Notions

Here are the bits and bobs I carry around with my projects.
Though not all of my notions.
Just the ones that are portable.

There are:

  • Stitch holder.
  • Tape measure.
  • Scissors.
  • Cable needle.
  • Stitch markers.
  • Row counter.
  • Sewing needles.
  • Point protector.
  • Double ended crochet hook.
  • Set of 5 DPN (Not pictured, seen in a previous post though).

Day 4: Inspiration Outdoors

I find inspiration everywhere, from the was the wind creates patterns in the snow, to the twisting branches of a tree, to the shape of a flower, to the colours of all of the above.

Nature is amazing.

Day 3: An Old FO

This is something I knitted for my fiancé, Leonardo was always his childhood favourite.

You can find the pattern at Knitted Toy Box as well as plenty other great patterns!

Day 2: Craft Tools

Here are my craft tools for today.

The DPN's are 3.75mm and I got them free on Let's Knit magazine.
I've been toying with the idea of a cabled hexipuff, so I may have to try it out.

A Month of Craft Photo's: Day #1 Me in Action

So I saw this on pininterest and have decided to give it a go.
So here is photo number one! Me in Action
Kind of an accident this happened, I was planning to start this on Monday but I'd taken this photo on my webcam yesterday, using the webcam toy on Chrome.
Here I am knitting my log cabin blanket, making up the pattern myself, just to try the technique.

My Kevät Shawl

I meant to post this a couple of weeks ago, but here is my first lace shawl. This is the Kevät shawl pattern, I found it whilst browsing Ravelry and I simply had to give it a go. The pattern chart is super easy to follow, which was great for me as I have had trouble with lace charts in the past. I used Robin Aran in a flesh tone (not sure on the colour way) and my 7mm circular needles and away I went! I'm pleased with it and it's a rather versatile shawl, great for the current weather, and you can see it in it's glory in the photo's below.
